Great Highway
Rising out of the fog of the Inner Sunset, comes Great Highway, a San Francisco band formed during the Fall of 2001. The band is comprised of two San Francisco natives and three transplanted East Coasters who share a common love of the Beatles and killer take out food.
Playing favorite San Francisco venues, such as the Hotel Utah, the 12 Galaxies, Thee Parkside, Red Devil Lounge, and more, Great Highway has also branched out to the rest of the Bay Area playing the Old Western Saloon in Point Reyes, the Round Up Saloon in Lafayette.
In the summer of 2004 they shared the stage with Austin Willacy at the Smith Ranch Alzheimers Benefit in Orinda, and the fun Unauthorized Rolling Stones at the BBC Technology corporate event at Stryker Winery in Sonoma. They have also enjoyed sharing the bill with other local favorites such as The Rich McCulley Band, Mary Carves the Chicken and more.
While now focusing on an original roots rock sound, Great Highway started as an acoustic group playing down-home venues such as Papa Toby's, Canvas Cafe, Brainwash and The Music Store. The band then branched out to the wilds of the Richmond District to local institutions like Ireland's 32 and The Plough and the Stars.
Come see Great Highway at one of their upcoming shows. Get on board!

Scott Weiss Bass, Vocals
The newest member of Great Highway is Scott Weiss. Scotty is a long time friend of the band and after sitting in for some smokin' sideman sessions we had to have him full time! His roots trace back to New York but you may have seen him playing guitar around town, most recently with Groovy Judy and PS Love.
