Tsunami Benefit raises $15.000!

On January 28, 2005, Great Highway, was honored to participate in a benefit called Helping Sri Lanka Recover organized by Colm O'Riain and Pireeni Sundaralingam. Music for the evening featured Great Highway, The Gasmen and Hy Brassyl. The event took place at the Plough and the Stars on Clement Street in San Francisco.

Thanks to all of the music lovers who came out and donated to the cause! We were blown away by the crowd. Thanks to their generosity, the event raised a total of $15,000, and 100% of that money went to help orphanages in Sri Lanka through the Sri Lanka Children's fund!

Aid from the Fund was used to directly support the efforts of a number of very effective organizations on the ground in Sri Lanka in the wake of the tsunami with particular emphasis on helping women and orphaned children immediately AND in the long term.

Thanks to everyone who made this event such a success!!!

Photos from the event are on our photos page
